Frequently asked questions
Are my AVIF images uploaded anywhere?
No. Your images are converted on your own device and never sent anywhere — there is no upload step at all. Nothing to store, nothing to delete afterwards, because we never receive your files.
Will I lose quality converting AVIF to JPG?
JPG is a lossy format, so re-encoding can lose a little detail — but at a high quality setting the difference is hard to see, and you control the quality slider before you start.
Does JPG keep transparency?
No — JPG has no transparency channel, so any transparent areas become a solid background. Convert to PNG or WebP instead if you need to keep transparency.
Is JPG the same as JPEG?
Yes. JPG and JPEG are two names for the exact same format — the file extension is the only difference, and both open everywhere.
Can I convert many AVIF files at once?
