Terms of Service

Image Optimizer is a tool that compresses, converts, resizes and renames image files. The processing runs inside your own browser — your files are not uploaded to us. We provide the tool as it is described on the site, and we may change or improve how it works over time.

The free plan needs no account. An account is required only to buy and keep a Pro licence, and is created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you use and for activity that happens under your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, or to process material you have no right to process
• attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure
• resell, rent out or redistribute access to Pro features, or share a licence across people it was not bought for
• circumvent the limits of the free plan or the checks that separate free and Pro features

Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Paying once unlocks the Pro features listed on the pricing section for the account you bought it with. There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.

Payments are handled by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale and whose own terms apply to the transaction. Prices are shown before you pay. Introductory or early-bird pricing applies only while it is offered and does not change the price of purchases already made.

If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the Pro licence attached to that purchase is withdrawn and the account returns to the free plan.

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. In particular we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a given output file will meet a specific quality, size or compatibility requirement.

Image compression is lossy by nature. Keep your originals — always check the result before you rely on it. Because processing happens on your own device, we have no copy of your files and cannot recover anything for you.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost data, lost files or lost profits, arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free user, is nothing.

You keep every right in the images you process. We claim no licence over them and receive no copy of them.

You can stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law.

We may also discontinue the service. If we discontinue it while your Pro licence is less than twelve months old, we will offer a pro-rated refund of what you paid.

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. If a change materially reduces what a paid Pro licence gives you, it will not be applied retroactively to licences already bought.
